Šášik: "pronounced 'Shawshick'... Like The Shawshank Redemption..."
David is a native of beautiful, sunny San Diego where he grew up going fishing with his dad and walking to school with his mom. He is a first generation American of Czechoslovakian descent, a country he loves and visits as often as he can. He loves puppers and doggos, especially his half-German Shepherd, half-Corgi pup, Merlin. David is eternally grateful to his mom and dad for everything. He could not live his dreams without their constant love and support.
David caught the performing bug at age 12 when he started performing in short films, indie films, and commercials. He discovered musical theatre in high school when he got to play Robert Martin in The Drowsy Chaperone. The musical theatre train has not stopped since. Since then, David has gone on to perform professionally in Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. In 2017, David made his New York City debut in the Off-Broadway musical revue, Excuse Me!
While studying theatre at UC Irvine, David had the privilege of taking class with Broadway star, Jenn Colella, performing for Broadway composer, Richard Oberacker, as well as taking dance classes with multiple Broadway choreographers and dancers while on the New York Satellite Program.
Since graduating with Honors from UC Irvine with his BFA in Musical Theatre and BS in Mathematics, David is pursuing musical theatre, television, and film in Los Angeles, New York City, and anywhere else this wonderful profession takes him.
